Hitler’s Spanish Sojourn


When the Soviets entered the Bunker, Russian leader, Josef Stalin immediately asked for a report on the whereabouts of Adolf Hitler. The first news he received from his generals was definite: the most wanted man had escaped. Stalin informed the United States in the exact same words. This striking piece of first-hand information is even more shocking when the Soviets state that Hitler had fled in a submarine, bound for Spain or Argentina.

Everything stated here has been documented, it was even published by newspapers of that time, and whoever wants to question Hitler’s escape must first of all know the facts about the official history, hidden too by official misinformation.

From the very first day, Stalin had the idea that Hitler could have escaped to Spain [as quoted by Trevor-Roper]. General Berazin said: "My opinion is that Hitler has gone into hiding and is somewhere in Europe, possible with General Franco". Stalin said that he was alive "in hiding... possibly with General Franco".  "Pravda" declared in an article entitled "Hitler's Agent, General Franco!" [6 July 1945] that the Fascist regimen in Spain should be destroyed as soon as possible.

Investigator claims Nazi leader fled to Barcelona instead of committing suicide in Berlin Bunker

Nazi leader Adolf Hitler spent a month in Spain before fleeing Europe for South America, according to an Argentine investigator.

Abel Basti claims to have found an FBI document, which states Hitler did not commit suicide in his Berlin Bunker.

Instead, he flew to Spain with lover Eva Braun and 13 high-ranking Nazi officials.

"They took off from Berlin and landed in Barcelona on 27 April 1945, via Linz in Austria," claims the journalist, who is investigating post-World War II Nazi activity in his native Argentina.

The FBI paperwork claims the Nazi leader and his party travelled in a Junkers 290 aircraft, which had the serial number 0163.
 

The sole Ju 290 A-6 was initially conceived as a pressurized personnel transport for Hitler's personal flight. Some pressurization trials were conducted at Prague but this scheme was abandoned at an early stage, and the aircraft was completed as an unpressurized 50-passenger transport. This aircraft was eventually taken on the strength of I/KG 200 at Finsterwalde for special transport operations, and in the last week of April 1945, was flown to Barcelona by Hauptmann Heinz Braun, the original Staffelkapitän of LTS 290 who subsequently served with FAGr 5, and with the disbandment of that Gruppe, joined Kampfgeschwader 200 [or by Flugkapitän Paul Sluzealek according to some sources].

"The I/KG 200 was largely responsible for the transportation of escaping Nazi leaders, and the identity of the passengers ferried to Barcelona aboard the Ju290 A-6 is open to conjecture".

Its passengers may have included SS Lt General Hans Kammler who disappeared from Prague about the same time. Kammler was the head of the V-2 rocket project and other secret technologies.

In the summer of 1945, Allied forces discovered this plane in the Travemünde airbase, close to the German city of Hamburg.

Using its flight documentation, the military traced the aeroplane’s movements to Spain.

In 1947, the US army searched for the Führer, but the Nazi leader had long gone.

"Hitler used Spain as a ‘trampoline'. He spent a month in the country before escaping to South America by submarine. By the time, US soldiers started their search for him, Hitler was in Argentina," Basti claims.

Now the South American journalist Abel Basti has joined the ranks of those - this author included - who have been researching the vast Nazi compound and postwar influence in the Argentine province of Rio Negro. Basti has now authored a trilogy covering the story, a story that first began to be noticed and reviewed in the old magazine  "The Police Gazette". Indeed, I have recently come into the possession of even more information concerning the Nazi goings on and secret research being done in that province near - you guessed it - San Carlos di Bariloche, headquarters of the "fusion" project of Dr. Ronald Richter after the war.

Basti provides a clue in the form of a document:

The handover of the luggage [of the distinguished persons named above] will take place from 16:00 onwards at the Hörching airport entrance.

The document does present some historical ones, and rather egregious ones at that. The names of the Göbbels family have been crossed out, suggesting that the document, if authentic, was prepared prior to the Göbbels' suicides. Beyond this, Gruppenführer Fegelein, according to the Nazi witnesses whose story still forms the "official" version of the final events in the Bunker, was executed under orders from Hitler, and yet his name is not crossed off the list.

Yet suggestively enough, Bormann's name appears along with Gestapo chief Heinrich Müller, both of whom, very likely made it out of Nazi Germany via airplane and the voyage of the U-234, whose log book is missing, twelve whole days prior to its equally suspicious surrender to the American Navy. But, there is some slight evidence to suggest that Bormann had Eva Braun "dispatched," to have one less person - and from Bormann's warped point of view, one less needless person - to have to spirit out of Nazi Germany before the final collapse.

The document itself raises suspicion, for why would a documentary trail of a planned escape even be created when so much of the rest of the trail is so thoroughly and carefully obfuscated? Why take the chance that such a plot would be discovered and undone by creating a document? But assuming the document to be genuine for the sake of argument, it does suggest what other evidence is presented by myself and others,  clearly corroborates, namely, that there was indeed an attempt to ferry out the most prominent Nazi leaders -Hitler included- at the end of the war.

The official story of the final moments, that story created by Trevor-Roper at the behest of British Intelligence, and on the basis of the testimony of the Nazis themselves, was never accepted by the Argentine locals of Rio Negro province, who maintain, to this day, and over all opposition, that the high Nazi leadership did indeed live in their country for a number of years after the war. And as far as the document itself goes, if genuine, then perhaps it was intended as further obfuscation, for it indicates an escape from Germany by air to Nationalist Spain, a hazardous undertaking to say the least, since any available route from Berlin to that country would have flown through air space thoroughly under Allied control.

In the final months of World War II, planes sent by the Nazis arrived in Argentina as part of a plan to evacuate funds, documentation and correspondence, according to an American intelligence document. This is a report signed by General B.R. Legge, United States Military Attaché in Switzerland, to be sent to Military Intelligence [CID No. 123156 / IG 4812], dated 28 March 1945:

In the document, the American Intelligence states:

"We have succeeded in establishing the existence of a regular air bridge between Germany and Spain.
The devices do not fly over France, but over northern Italy and the Mediterranean. These four- or six-engine aircraft were built some time ago with the purpose of ensuring the escape of the Nazis' bigwigs to Japan or Argentina at the right time. To this end, the squadron of aircraft called Führerstaffel, with carefully selected crew, was formed ... This provision was adopted in the event of failure of the official negotiations on asylum ... ".

The report states that "in February 1945, two of those planes flew to Buenos Aires. The data has been verified".

On the face of it then, the escape plan itself - even if the document is genuine - is ludicrous.

Perhaps the  most sensational "revelation" in "Gestapo Chief: The 1948 Interrogation of Heinrich Müller", by Gregory Douglas, is that Hitler did not commit suicide on 30 April 1945, as those who were with him in the final days of the war later unanimously testified, but instead escaped to Spain. Müller insists that, with his help, Hitler and his mistress, Eva Braun, left Berlin on 22 April 1945, and flew from Austria on the 26th in a special four-motor aircraft that arrived the next day in Barcelona. "Listen to me," Müller tells his American interrogator. "Hitler went to Spain. I know for certain his plane landed safely ..."

To confirm this testimony, the author presents what appears to be a facsimile reproduction of an authentic German document dated 20 April 1945. Headed "Special Führer Journey to Barcelona," and signed by Müller, it declares that "the Führer and his entourage will depart from airfield Hörching [near Linz] on 26 April 1945".

Müller says that, as part of the escape operation, he found a man who looked like Hitler to serve as a "double". Thus, Müller says, Hitler's wedding to Eva Braun in the Berlin Bunker on 28 or 29 April 1945, was "pure theater". Afterwards, Müller goes on, the "double" was shot and his body left so that the Russians would find it, to mislead them into believing they had discovered the Führer's corpse.

The man who crafted the "Gestapo Chief" series of books is a known fabricator of documents who has used a variety of names over the years, including Peter Stahl, Samuel Prescot Bush, and Freiherr Von Mollendorf. His real name, apparently, is Peter Norton Birch or Peter Norwood Burch.

Perhaps the most obviously suspect feature of the "Gestapo Chief" series is that the author will not permit any independent examination of his "original" documents. [To be sure, not all the documents he presents are fraudulent. To add credibility to his book, "Douglas" includes, among his forgeries, a number of indisputably authentic wartime documents].

Characteristic of this entire series is the clearly fraudulent "facsimile document" of 20 April 1945. This is actually the author's second, "corrected" version. The first appeared with an article he wrote for the spring 1990 issue of "The Military Advisor", a magazine issued by the same firm that publishes "Gestapo Chief". But whereas the "SS" characters are rendered in this earlier "facsimile" as normal typescript letters, they are rendered in "Gestapo Chief" as "lightning bolt" runes.

How did these amazing documents come into the author's possession? In "Gestapo Chief", the first volume of the series, "Douglas" tells the reader that "In the early 1980s, by means that are not of concern here, all of Müller's personal files came into private hands". Later "Douglas" claimed that Müller personally gave him these extraordinary documents ["Spotlight", 6 January 1997]. In another "Spotlight" interview [9 November 1998], "Douglas" claimed to have met Müller in 1963, and to have known him well until his death in 1983. Remarkably, no mention of this twenty-year relationship appears in volume one of "Gestapo Chief".

To credit Douglas' fantastic yarns requires one to accept that Hitler's Personal and Political Testaments of 29 April 1945, are phony, and that all those who were with him in the final days in the Berlin Bunker, and who survived the war, conspired for decades in a lie to hide the German leader's escape to Spain. These persons include Hans Baur, Hitler' pilot; Traudl Junge, the secretary who typed Hitler's final testament; the pilot Hanna Reitsch; Otto Günsche, Hitler's personal adjutant, who carried the body of Eva Braun from the Bunker up to the courtyard where it was burned; Erich Kempka, the chauffeur who helped burn the bodies of Hitler and his wife; Heinz Linge, Hitler's valet; and Artur Axmann, the Hitler Youth leader [Linge and Axmann later testified to having seen Hitler's corpse]. Some of these witnesses were questioned by British historians Hugh Trevor-Roper and David Irving; others, during Soviet captivity, by the Russians. Their stories tally.

The problem simply won't go away, and only appears to be growing with each year's distance from the end of the war, as more and more details slowly are coming out. But the problem may be boiled down to a simple question: Suppose there were life insurance policies on Adolf Hitler and Martin Bormann through Prudential Insurance Company in 1945. Is the evidence for suicide in Hitler's case strong enough for the Prudential  to avoid paying a policy on him to his estate? And by the same token, in Bormann's case, are the various versions of his death also strong enough to compel the Prudential to pay on his policy?

In the book "KG 200 The Luftwaffe's Most Secret Unit" by Geoffrey J. Thomas Barr Ketley, the mission of the Ju 290 flight to Spain is described.

The flight never actually took place. The pilot Hptm. Heinz Braun and his crew waited at the airport in vain. 

On 2 May Braun flew the aircraft to Königgratz in Czechoslovakia and waited for further orders. On 8 May, he loaded the aircraft with women and children that were fleeing form the Russian advance. He flew the aircraft to Münich where he landed and surrendered to US Forces.

His account of the surrender:

"On the Czech-German border, we were intercepted by two P-51 Mustangs in extremely bad weather while flying low. By rocking the wings and lowering the landing gear, we were able to avoid an attack and subsequently flew unhindered to München-Riem where we were able to land on a narrowly marked out runway free of bomb craters".

In Münich he surrendered the aircraft with 70 women and children on board.

The Real Hitler?

Sir Alan Lascelles was King George VI's private secretary from 1943-52.

Lascelles, in his diaries, entitled "King's Counsellor", wrote that, in June 1944, General Georges Catroux, of the Free French forces, had asked the British government's Alfred Duff Cooper "to see a certain French officer, urgently".

The diary entry for 21 June 1944 continues:

"This man, who is a very big noise in the French Intelligence service, told Duff that he had very reliable information that Hitler had fled from Berlin to a villa near Perpignan, where he is now hiding and waiting a favourable opportunity to slip across the Spanish frontier".

By 1944, Hitler no longer appeared in public.

Why might Hitler have wanted to leave Germany in 1944?

According to Lascelles, Germany talked of peace terms as early as 1943.

In his diary entry for 27 December 1943, Lascelles wrote:

"Hughe Knatchbull-Hugessen telegraphed yesterday from Ankara that Numan [Turkish Foreign Minister] had told him ... that the German Minister in Bucharest had called [in uniform] on the Romanian Foreign Minister, and told him Germany would accept peace on the following terms: they would surrender fleet, submarines, merchant fleet, air force, disarm completely, evacuate all occupied territory, undertake never to ask for colonies, and leave Europe to be organised according to the wishes of the Allies.

 "The only condition they asked for is economic freedom for Germany, but this is to be arranged as found suitable by the Allies".

Roosevelt and Churchill insisted on unconditional surrender.

And this worked to the advantage of Russia, which ended up controlling Eastern Europe.

In 1943, sections of the German military showed signs of wanting rid of Hitler.

Between 1943 and March 1944 there were seven plots against Hitler. The 20 July 1944 plot failed to kill Hitler, or his "double".

Abel Basti says Hitler escaped from Spain by submarine into exile in South America. He claims to have a document showing the FBI searched for the Hitler in Spain in 1947.  

If Hitler fled from Berlin in June 1944, then who was acting as his "double" back in Germany, up until April 1945, when Hitler supposedly died?

According to TIME magazine, in 1935:

"Adolf Hitler last week became the first Dictator frankly to employ a double.

"Impersonating the Realm leader, a pudgy-fingered, smudge-mustached person officially opened the new motor highway from Holzkirchen to Munich. Suddenly the crowd recognized Dictator Hitler standing unobtrusively a few yards from his double and good-natured German cheers were given first for one, then for the other".

In November 1944, the "Daily Express" published photos of Hitler "past" and "present", suggesting that the 'present' Hitler was not the real Hitler. The "Express" pointed out that the ears on the "present" Hitler were different from the ears on the "past" Hitler.

"The Daily Express", according to Sir Alan Lascelles in his diary entry of 23 November 1944, "proves fairly conclusively" that the man in the recent photos "cannot be the real Hitler".

 

Some people  accept that Adolf Hitler died in his Bunker for Closure, but consider the following:

No records show an Adi Lupis ever being born or having died nor any record of him arriving or leaving Spain, yet there is proof of an Adi Lupis being a gardener working for Franco, from  1 May 1945 to when he died of a heart attack on the 1 November 1947.

According to Senor Stefan Aceituna, who was one of General Francisco Franco's drivers during 1945 and beyond, he was sent to meet a plane arriving at the Madrid airport on the night of 30 April 1945.

He described the plane as "of German origin" and remembered that it arrived very late, "probably after midnight". Following Franco's instructions, the passenger, who had no luggage, was transported "directly to the Palace".

In May of 1945 the East wing of General Franco's residence in Madrid was sealed off from the rest of the palace and surrounded by a fourteen foot high wall. No explanation of this construction work has ever been forthcoming. The staff assigned to this wing were all fluent in the German tongue.

In May 1945 Franco's medical staff ordered from Spain's largest pharmaceutical company a carton of 144 bottles of "Doctor Koster's Anti-Gas pills". This order was repeated on a monthly basis until October 1947.

Theo Morell, Hitler's personal physician had introduced Hitler to the anti-flatulence medication and Hitler had become so addicted to the strychnine base of these pills that he was known to swallow them by the handful.

Suddenly, in May of 1945, General Franco has a need of the identical medication and the need continues unabated until October 1947.

About thirteen miles from the Presidential Palace in Madrid is a medical establishment known as "The Clinico San Carlo

At the end of 1947 the director of this clinic, one Dr Victor Vega Diaz, also held the title of "President of the International Association of Cardiologists". In other words, he was recognized as the world's foremost heart specialist.

According to Vega Diaz's personal diary, he received a telephone call from the Presidential Palace in the early afternoon of Wednesday, 1 November 1947 to examine a "member of Franco's gardening staff". From the way in which the doctor has boldly underlined "From Generalisimmo Franco" it appears obvious that this call was not made by a member of the Palace staff but emanated directly from the Spanish President himself.

Why would the Spanish dictator contact the "Hospital Clinico San Carlos" when the larger, more modern, and much better equipped "Hospital Francisco Franco", named in his honour, was almost twelve miles nearer? Could it be because all previous medical needs of the General himself and the members of his entourage had always, until this day, been catered to by the hospital bearing his name, and that the General did not want any record of Senor Adi Lupus added to his personal file?

Dr Diaz' diary describes the patient as "between fifty and sixty years of age … in an emaciated condition".  His personal files record that he examined a patient "in his late fifties or early sixties" [at that time Hitler would have been fifty-eight years and six months of age] and records that at 3:32 pm he certified the patient's death from "Cardio Myopathy", a fairly basic heart attack and it appears that no autopsy was performed. .

At the top of the page, beside the words "Patient Identification" the doctor had written: "Senor Adi Lupus".

Unfortunately the doctors personal notes do not elaborate further and the Clinico San Carlos has relocated since 1947 and if any official hospital records ever existed they are now lost for ever. 

Does it not seem illogical to summon the best cardiologist in the world to treat a lowly gardener?  

Despite lengthy searches of all cemeteries within reasonable proximity to Madrid, no record can be discovered which documents the burial or cremation of Senor Adi Lupus.

No amount of searching has been able to uncover a document anywhere in Spain which relates to Senor Adi Lupus.

No birth certificate, no marriage record, no tax file or employment history, no registration on an electoral roll. Until 1 November 1947 he appears not to have existed. The only mention of his name is in the notebook of Dr Vega Dias.

Is it no more than coincidence that Lupus is Latin for wolf, the nom-de-plume which Hitler favoured, the title he appended to his yacht [The Sea Wolf], his plane [The Flying Wolf] and two of his Führer headquarters [The Wolf's Lair and The Wolf's Den].

He used the pseudonym Mr Wolf when he first met Eva. If it is purely coincidental, then we must apply the same assumption to the Christian name "Adi". This happens to be the form of address used in private by Eva Braun.

 

In March 1943, the German U-Boat Arm under the command of Admiral Karl Dönitz had brought the Allied convoy system to the verge of collapse. A spirit of optimism prevailed at the OKM, Oberkommando der Marine [Headquarters of the German Navy] in Berlin as reports of numerous sinkings were received over the teletype. Dönitz' U-Bootwaffe was engaged in the largest offensive of the North Atlantic against Allied convoys. The results were encouraging. During the first twenty days of March they had sent an estimated 141,000 tons of shipping to the bottom of the Atlantic with the loss of one U-Boat.

More good news surfaced that the Admiral’s naval signal Intelligence network -B-Dienst [Beobachtungsdienst] had again broken the Allied naval codes and read each message with ease.
 

The excitement was abruptly curtailed on 18  March when Dönitz received word that Allied VLR [Very Long Range] aircraft had penetrated airspace in the eastern mid-Atlantic.

Many different aircraft from airships to four-engined sea- and land-planes were used in anti-submarine warfare. Some of the more successful were the Lockheed Ventura, PBY [Catalina or Canso, in British service], Consolidated B-24 Liberator [VLR Liberator, in British service], Short Sunderland, and Vickers Wellington. As more patrol planes became equipped with radar, U-Boats began to be surprised at night by aircraft attacks. U-Boats were not defenseless, since their deck guns were a very good anti-aircraft weapon. They claimed 212 Allied aircraft shot down for the loss of 168 U-Boats to air attack. The German naval command struggled to find a solution to the aircraft attacks. "U-Flak" submarines, equipped with extra anti-aircraft weapons, were tried unsuccessfully. At one point in the war, there was even a "shoot back order" requiring U-Boats to stay on the surface and fight back, in the absence of any other option. Some commanders started charging batteries during the day to gain more warning from air attack, and perhaps gain time to submerge. One solution was the Schnorchel, which allowed a U-Boat to stay submerged and still charge its batteries; it made a U-Boat more survivable and losses to aircraft went down. However the low snorkeling speeds of 5 to 6 knots [9.3–11.1 km/h; 5.8–6.9 mph] greatly limited the mobility of the U-Boats.

The provision of air cover was essential. The Germans at the time had been using their Focke-Wulf Fw 200 "Condor" long range aircraft to attack shipping and provide reconnaissance for U-Boats, and most of their sorties occurred outside the reach of existing land-based aircraft that the Allies had; this was dubbed the "Mid-Atlantic Gap".
 


At first, the British developed temporary solutions such as CAM ships and merchant aircraft carriers. These were superseded by mass-produced, relatively cheap escort carriers built by the United States and operated by the US Navy and Royal Navy. There was also the introduction of long-ranged patrol aircraft. Many U-Boats feared aircraft, as the mere presence would often force them to dive, disrupting their patrols and attack runs.

Within days the OKM was flooded with communiques from a number of boats returning home with depth charge battle damage. The tide had turned virtually overnight, without warning, as the Admiral began to explore his options. In the months that followed, the U-Boat losses soared, forcing Dönitz to recall his remaining U-Boats back to their bases on 24 May. The situation deteriorated with each passing day as the puzzled OKM played the role of helpless bystander in the unfolding drama.

Since this tipping point in the Battle of the Atlantic in May 1943, the balance of power in the sea war shifted even more. The Kriegsmarine lost its French U-Boat bases in the summer of 1944, making the approach voyages to possible patrol areas much longer, more difficult, and more dangerous. Allied anti-submarine naval and air forces with greatly improved equipment now dominated the North Atlantic sea-lanes and the waters around most of Europe, so Allied shipping losses were a small fraction of what they had been.

In 1944, U-Boat loss rates had outstripped the numbers of new boats being commissioned; consequently, the remaining crews and most of their commanders were much less experienced. From January through April 1945 alone, no fewer than 139 U-Boats and their crews were lost. The chances of a successful submarine escape directly from northwest Europe to South America would have been slim; however, the odds improved significantly with Spain as the point of departure

The controversial "History Channel" documentary series 'Hunting Hitler' stated that there were two submarine bases or pens in Spain itself that were utilized by German U-Boats during and immediately after the war.

Spain was neutral in name only and was really an Axis co-belligerent in the shadows - but the program claimed it went further than this. There was also mention, along with video footage, of a radio direction-finding installation in Spain itself that was used by German bombers for navigation, presumably on air raids over England and probably elsewhere, as well.

The German intercept stations in Spain

In the course of WWII the German signal intelligence agencies intercepted radio traffic from several fixed and mobile stations established throughout Europe. Some of these stations were located in neutral countries and they operated clandestinely, so as not to attract attention from the Allies.  Although these stations operated in secrecy the local governments were informed of their existence and had given their tacit approval.

The Spanish government under General Francisco Franco had close ties to Germany, as would be expected considering the support that the Nationalists had received from Germany and Italy during the Spanish Civil War of 1936-39. Without support from Hitler and Mussolini the Nationalists would not have been able to defeat the Republican forces. Yet despite these close ties the position of the Spanish government during WWII was to remain neutral and avoid foreign entanglements.

Before the war General Franco allowed German technicians to erect near Lugo in Spain a system of radio beacons known as the Radiofaro Consul or "Elektra-Sonne". The three metal towers were 100 metres in height and equipped with a very large octagonal shape at the extremities. The transmitter emitted a LW morse message every minute consisting of the identification letters "LG" and then the coordinate of the transmitter. The Consul system had enormous range, covered half the planet, and its precision was such that it remained in use for civilian aircraft in Spain until 1971.

The three towers near Lugo in Spain were situated at Arneiro, Graña and Moman.

There were four others in Europe at Stavanger [Norway] Bush Mills [UK] Ploneis [France] and Seville [Spain].

Even though Spain was neutral the police and the Intelligence service cooperated to some extent with the German Intelligence services Abwehr and Sicherheitsdienst. In the field of signals intelligence the authorities allowed the establishment of a main radio-intercept station in Madrid and smaller outstations throughout the country. These first of these stations were controlled by the German High Command’s deciphering department – OKW/Chi.

OKW/Chi was not the only German agency with radio stations in Spain. In the course of the war a clandestine naval D/F station was added to the OKW/Chi Seville facility and a Luftwaffe intercept station was established in Barcelona. Also in the latter stages of the war the main station in Madrid added a separate section for the Radio Security Service of the Armed Forces [Funkabwehr].

The controlling station was established at the German consulate in Madrid [10 Ayala Street], in 1939 or 1940, and the codename for the intercept organization in Spain was "Stürmer".

There were outstations in the outskirts of Madrid, on a German owned cattle ranch north of Seville, in Tangiers, in Las Palmas, Tenerife and possibly in the Balearic Islands.

The stations were tasked with intercepting traffic from French, Belgian and Portuguese colonies and later traffic from North America and from the British Dominions but did not carry out any codebreaking activities. Instead the coded messages were transmitted back to Berlin.

Security measures were strict with all the personnel being told to avoid contact with the locals and even other Germans working at the embassy. The members of the group wore civilian clothes and used at the outstations radio equipment of the American Hallicrafters company. Married men were not allowed to bring their wives to Spain and the unmarried ones were forbidden from marrying Spanish women.

Even so the work of these stations could not remain a secret forever. The Allied authorities occasionally tipped the Spanish police so it could raid these stations but the Spanish authorities always proceeded with such sluggishness that serious problems were avoided. By the time the police arrived there was nothing compromising for them to find.

In the course of the war other German agencies also established covert intercept stations in Spain.

Luftwaffe station

The signal intelligence service of the Luftwaffe operated an intercept station in Barcelona and it seems that from 1942 they had exclusive control of the entire facility, there may have been another station near Madrid. They mostly intercepted traffic of the USAAF ferry service.

B-Dienst station

The naval signal intelligence service B-Dienst [Beobachtungsdienst] operated an intercept station in the same facility in Seville that OKW/Chi was using [or in Barcelona and in the outskirts of Madrid]. They focused on naval traffic from the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.

Funkabwehr station

The organizations tasked with monitoring the radio transmissions of illicit operators and spy groups were the Radio Defence Corps of the Armed Forces High Command – OKW Funkabwehr and the similar department of the regular police – Ordnungspolizei. Both agencies operated in occupied Europe but they were assigned different areas.

In late 1942 or early 1943 a special OKW Funkabwehr section was established at the Madrid intercept station. This unit conducted direction finding operations for the radio transmitters of Allied and Spanish Republican spy groups. It seems that they also had a small number of civilian vehicles equipped with mobile D/F devices. The Spanish authorities not only allowed the Germans to set up this station but cooperated closely with them in the field of counterintelligence against foreign spies.

It was only natural that the Spanish authorities would be worried about Allied spy groups and even more so about the activities of the surviving Republican resistance networks. The civil war had ended only a few years earlier and the supporters of the Republican government could still organize a movement against the regime, especially if they had support from the Allies.

The Funkabwehr station assisted the Spanish General Staff in counterintelligence activities and had good results with traffic from Southern France.

The intercept organization closes down

In the course of the war new stations were activated and the Spanish authorities obviously benefited from the German activities, especially in the field of counter Intelligence. However as Germany was pushed back by the Allies it was obvious that the war would end with an Allied victory. This influenced the decisions of the Spanish government and in 1944 the Seville, Tangiers and Barcelona stations were closed down. At the end only the Madrid stations remained and they were closed down in 1945, with their equipment turned over to the Spanish authorities and the personnel being repatriated in 1946.

In the program, there was also a lot of interesting information about the state of affairs in Europe at the end of WWII, and particularly, about the "Rat Lines" and clandestine aid lent to numerous escaping Nazis by fellow-travelers and allies in the shadows. This certainly included some powerful people and institutions in Spain.

The origins of the first Ratlines are connected to various developments in Vatican-Argentine relations before and during World War II. As early as 1942, Monsignor Luigi Maglione contacted Ambassador Llobet, inquiring as to the "willingness of the government of the Argentine Republic to apply its immigration law generously, in order to encourage at the opportune moment European Catholic immigrants to seek the necessary land and capital in our country". Afterwards, a German priest, Anton Weber, the head of the Rome-based Society of Saint Raphael, traveled to Portugal, continuing to Argentina, to lay the groundwork for future Catholic immigration; this was to be a route which fascist exiles would exploit. According to historian Michael Phayer, "this was the innocent origin of what would become the Vatican ratline".

Spain, not Rome, was the "first center of ratline activity that facilitated the escape of Nazi fascists, although the exodus itself was planned within the Vatican. Charles Lescat, a French member of Action Française [an organization suppressed by Pius XI and rehabilitated by Pius XII], and Pierre Daye, a Belgian with contacts in the Spanish government, were among the primary organizers. Lescat and Daye were the first to flee Europe with the help of Argentine cardinal Antonio Caggiano.

By 1946, there were hundreds of war criminals in Spain, and thousands of former Nazis and fascists. According to US Secretary of State James F. Byrnes, Vatican co-operation in turning over these "asylum-seekers" was "negligible". According to Phayer, Pius XII "preferred to see fascist war criminals on board ships sailing to the New World rather than seeing them rotting in POW camps in zonal Germany". Unlike the Vatican emigration operation in Italy, centered on Vatican City, the ratlines of Spain, although "fostered by the Vatican" were relatively independent of the hierarchy of the Vatican Emigration Bureau.

What really happened to Hitler and the Third Reich Nazi High Command?

Greg Hallett

Over the years, I have come into contact with numerous very interesting individuals in my research on the endemic high level government corruption.

One such individual is Gregg Hallett, a well-known previously very successful architect from New Zealand, a man who exposed corruption in New Zealand and had to flee to Europe and the UK because of serious harassment by Law Enforcement and Intel.

Greg is the modal example of how a well educated, well respected professional can became a Truth-seeker, and then became transformed into an international anti-corruption Truth-warrior, all because of high level corruption that impacted his life.

While working as a professional architect in New Zealand, Greg refused to accept abuse by a corrupt system and then fought back with every resource he had to expose it. Initially he had hoped that higher government and Law Enforcement authorities would clean it up. Instead he found out the higher you go the more corrupt they are.

After bucking the corruption endemic to the system in New Zealand, and moving to Europe to escape all the murder attempts, he began to investigate the source of this corruption which had also overtaken and occupied England. Ever since his journey as a Truth-seeker he has paid an enormous personal price for his research and activism.

The real miracle here is that Greg is still standing and some mysterious force always seems to protect him and keep him just barely getting by. His story is quite remarkable to say the least.

Greg is my friend and I have a lot of respect for him and his work. His research has shown that the current Queen of England is an imposter and he has laid this all out in well documented form in his excellent books.

Greg Hallett has authored a number of revealing books based on high level MI-6 Intel and from his own sources. My favorite and one of his most well-known is "Hitler was a British Agent". This is a remarkable book based on very high level Intel from a highly ranked insider he came to know.

Before Greg had to leave New Zealand due to serious harassment by Intel and Law Enforcement for bucking the crooked system and expecting justice, he became good friends with a man he called “the Spymaster”. The Spymaster was a former very high ranking MI-6 man but who had apparently retired in New Zealand and came to know Greg.

It may be that Greg Hallett was chosen to serve as a “drip” to leak out historical information by a certain oppositional but high ranking power faction in the UK through MI-6. Greg has written some excellent books on hidden history and some of the Intel behind his books is stunning to say the least.

These books are filled with historical data almost impossible to find in any library even with years of deep research. I have read his excellent classic the Blackmailers Guide to New Zealand and it seems to be quite accurate. For anyone living in New Zealand and wants to know how things are really run behind the scenes, this is a must read.

Hitler

I don’t agree with Greg’s views in regard to the life of Jesus associated with claims of the Merovingians, but with everything else.

Greg’s writings about corruption in New Zealand, the heritage of the Royals, and what happened to Hitler are accurate. And as time goes on his claims about what happened to Hitler at the end of WW2 in his book are being progressively corroborated bit by bit, especially by declassified Intel documents in the UK and the USA.

This man the Spymaster gave Greg frequent high level briefings on high level Intel, how things really work behind the scenes in new Zealand and inside England too. Greg was given a great deal of Intel not known generally, especially about how Hitler was rescued from Germany and by whom, and who the Queen really is and where she came from.

Hitler didn’t die in the Bunker.

According to Greg Hallett’s account, Hitler left two murdered doubles in the Bunker [one that was his and another Eva Braun’s] and then fled through a tunnel system to a float plane to eventually end up in Spain.

From Spain, he may have been taken by ship or submarine to South America to one of the Nazi enclaves [there were a number of them in some areas with large German populations]. Or he may have remained in Spain.

Certainly there is some reason to believe that Hitler was considered irrelevant at the end of the war because, two years before it ended, special agreements were negotiated with the Allies, specifically US and England Intel, jointly without his input.

The best evidence I have been made privy to so far is that Hitler probably died in 1950 in Spain at a Catholic Church rectory while retiring as a gardener growing roses.

How interesting it is that some insiders believe that Angela Merkel is the actual daughter of Hitler and Eva Braun. She certainly looks a great deal like him. If true this would certainly explain a lot about her counter-intuitive efforts to “Globalize” Germany by bringing in so many foreign immigrants, an obvious effort to destroy Germany’s language, culture and border

Secret Intel Agreement

Two years before the end of the war, a special secret agreement was negotiated with General Hans Kammler and American and British Intel. Churchill had convinced FDR that the war had to be extended until at least 5 years in order to gain enough land and booty to pay the settlements required by the Bank of International Settlements which came into being in 1930.

According to the secret rules of conquest and war after 1930, the winner of any war has to pay to rebuild the nations they defeat.

This was passed as a means to prevent the recurrence of the punitive Treaty of Versailles which devastated Germany and led to the rise of the Nazi regime. Plus Churchill had been instructed by the City of London  [COL} leaders that he needed to make sure the supply lines into the Work Camps in Germany, and other countries were bombed to increase the death rate for Judaics so that this would serve as more powerful propaganda later on as the Zionist slave state of the New Israel was created.

General Kammler was head of the special weapons programs of the Nazis that was responsible for developing super high tech weapons and anti-gravity craft that was reputed to have been shared by the Vril Girls. The Nazis also had a recovered crashed Alien ET UFO that had crashed in Bavaria in 1922 during a powerful thunder storm.

Bormann was the Nazi’s business agent, and he prepared Gold stashes in other nations as a back-up plan when he felt certain that Germany would be defeated. Kammler was made privy to this and they formulated a very crafty back up plan to create Nazi SS enclaves throughout South America, Australia and Canada, with armed bases in South America and one in Antarctica [New Schwabenland].

Kammler’s and Bormann’s deal negotiated with the Allies was this. Operation Paperclip became a reality based on these secret, very sensitive negotiations. Top Nazi Intel officers and those scientists working on ultra-high technology being back engineered from Alien ETs would be given complete immunity if they did three things:

1> The Nazi scientists working on rocketry and anti-gravity craft would be brought into the USA and would be employed at a living wage and would be expected to continue their Alien ET research and advanced rocketry.

This eventually led to a bifurcated space program, with the rocket-based system for public consumption, and the secret anti-gravity programs becoming deeply buried inside certain Defense Contractor special access, unacknowledged “need to know” deep-black and beyond-black programs.

In Germany, as the program was being transferred to a special unit of the Allies, General Kammler had all his top officers not essential to the program shot in cold blood. This give one an idea how cold-blooded Kammler really was; and he was of the same cloth as Borman, Skorzeny and most other top Nazi insiders who had taken a blood oath to the Reich of the Black Sun. The anti-gravity craft programs had already been bifurcated from the rocketry programs in Germany, and the plan was to continue this bifurcation as cover for the anti-gravity craft programs.

>2 Reinhard Gehlen and Heinrich [Gestapo] Müller would transfer their spy system embedded inside the Soviet Union to US Intel and would develop a complete cold war strategy for the City of London Banksters. This eventually resulted in the Nazi takeover of American Intel, and the creation of the CIA after the UFO crashed at Roswell NM that sent the American Military into a tailspin. Roswell was leaked on purpose and then covered up to create a crisis in American Intel and the US Congress so that there would be sufficient motivation to pass the Draconian and unconstitutional National Security Act of 1947.

>3 Some Nazis would be allowed to occupy South American nations as long as they agreed to provide security systems for the puppet dictators that served the needs of the big American Corporations which needed to oppress the populace and keep cheap access to their natural resources.

Operation HighJump

The German base in New Schwabenland in Antarctica was not included in the negotiations because the Allied Intel did not have good substantiation about it.

It has been decided that later on after they had developed a good relationship with the Nazis under Operation Paperclip, they would then press to be a part of that and share in those secrets.

But this did not happen and the Nazis were resistant to provide any meaningful information about this even suggesting that the Nazis at this underground/underwater base in Antarctica had formed an alliance with Alien ETs already living there and had gone renegade even from the Nazi high command in South America.

In 1947 Admiral Byrd ran a secret naval armed expeditionary force called “Operation Highjump”. Aircraft were deployed and shot down and at least one ship allegedly sunk. Byrd returned to America closed lipped, but while in Argentina had told a reporter that the force they battled with could fly from pole to pole rapidly.

This is where good accounts crease and only speculation remains. Sources deep inside American Intel have rumored that another expeditionary naval force was sent back in 1952 and deployed nuclear devices against this Nazi underground base.

Allegedly some kind of negotiated truce agreement was formed to be able to do research in Antarctica, but the Alien ET base with co-opted Nazis was to be left alone.

It is unknown if the US’ Secret Space War program formed in 1947 later formed a cooperative effort with these Antarctic Alien ETs reputed to be “tall Whites”, and believed to be tolerant of Anglos and Americans and willing to cooperate on mutual interests — like defeating the Dracos which were reputed to hold an iron grip on world banking and most of the Satanic secret societies.

Enter the Israelis, Cutouts for the COL Zionist Rothschild Khazarian Mafia [RKM] Banksters

After the end of WW2, in the early 1950’s when the Zionists inside the COL Banking system became concerned that the Nazis could become too powerful, they devised a plan to weaken them and bring them into the official COL fold. And the Israelis convinced the COL Bankster councils that in order to create the New Israel on confiscated Palestinian land, they needed to create massive anti-Nazi propaganda as a means to mind-kontrol Judaics enough to get massive worldwide support for Israel.

The long term plan of the COL Banksters which has always been associated with a Draconian, Satanic Cult and high Freemasonry had always believed that they needed to occupy Jerusalem, where Satan would then be seated as world ruler as soon as they completed their Globalist NWO Agenda.

The top Nazi generals had not wanted to go to war in the first place, they believed that they could take over the world economically in time. But Hitler had been mind-kontrolled to believe he could stop the Bolsheviks, partner with England and then take over and rule the whole world.

The team that rescued Hitler from his Bunker was run by Ian Fleming, a man later murdered at the orders of Allen Dulles for writing his book about Dulles, "The Man With The Golden Gun".

Paperclip scientists in America

According to this narrative supplied by the Spymaster, Hitler was a British Agent, deeply mind-kontrolled at Tavistock Institute. He was told that the plan was for Germany to stop Russia and that Britain would join forces and together they would take over the whole world. The proof of this lies in two events:

First Hitler’s counterintuitive release of the Allies trapped at Dunkirk [he could have won the war right there]. Second, his sending Rudolf Hess to fly into Britain to finalize his expected alliance between Germany and England.

Why England turned on him is an interesting question. Was it a ruse right from the start or did the group running England change their minds about Hitler because of his new view on Banking which was counter to theirs?

And there is the group “Sharkhunters” that has traced Hitler’s escape to South America and claims to have a lot of evidence. Jeff Rense has broadcast numerous excellent programs and articles by Sharkhunters on Rense.com.  I am not familiar with their all their claims about Hitler’s escape but they have done a lot of research. And then there is the recent history Channel series "Hunting Hitler". They may disagree on dates and specific living locations for Hitler post WW2, but they all agree that he survived the end of the war.

The man who knows the most about what happened to the Nazis and their Third Reich in general after WW2 is the noted investigative journalist and top selling author Jim Marrs, who has written an excellent, well-respected book, "The Rise of the Fourth Reich"..

And of course there is a lot of misinformation that has been planted on the Internet and broadcast and published to mislead researchers as deception and cover.

Here is what I think happened to Hitler from my best sources. Over the years in my profession I did meet and get to know some very high level individuals, some high level Intel.

You can take this information for what it is worth [informed rumors], but I believe it is valid. Do your own research and diligence and you will probably come to a realistic conclusion.

In 1943 two years before WW2 ended, General Kammler met in secret with British and American Intel and negotiated a deal. He agreed to surrender all his Vril high technology and advanced weapons at the end of the war in exchange for complete immunity and guaranteed jobs for 9,000 of his technicians, scientists and engineers working on these systems inside America.

He had been told that the Allied High Command would be continuing the war for another two years for economic reasons but that there was no way Germany could ever make its high tech weapons operational. Another similar deal was made with the General running the Nazi atomic bomb program. They had already successfully fired one off before the end of the war but were short of Plutonium.

That deal negotiated with the Allies resulted in the transfer of the German Plutonium and detonator designs and prototypes to the Allies at the end of the war and the nuclear material was used in one of the nuclear bombs dropped on Japan. The person that inserted the detonators in the bombs that were used to attack Nagasaki and Hiroshima just happened to be a woman [not generally known, but I have met her son]..

Martin Bormann

During WW2, the Nazi top command [specifically Bormann who was the real leader of Germany and the Nazis] lost all confidence in Hitler and started making secret arrangements to transfer Gold and valuable artwork all over the world, to Spain, to South America, to Australia, to New Zealand, and even to America and Canada. Bormann was planning to create a new Fourth Reich that would eventually rule the world and result in a Globalist NWO one-world government.

Bormann believed that the USA and England were so impressed with the Nazi Intel methodologies and their technology and weapons development programs they could slowly infiltrate and take over both nations. And the USG brought both Gehlen and Muehler mover to build their Intel system in order to counter the new Soviet threat.

Gehlen sold the idea to the USG that he had completely penetrated the Soviets at all levels and had a strong spy network in place there and in all satellite nations. Over time there is good anecdotal evidence that the Bormann Plan to covertly build the Fourth Reich was successful and there is reason to believe that it merged with the City of London Globalist plan to build a NWO with a one-world government.

Bormann met in secret with the Russians in Switzerland [where he made the deal with the Allies] and formulated plans which accepted the defeat of the Third Reich, but would replace it covertly with the new and secret Fourth Reich.

At the end of the war, Bormann and his fellow top Nazis, some who were in uniform and many were industrialists [not just in Germany but all over the world] had a great deal of gold and valuable artwork amassed during WW2. With this vast fortune Bormann and his closest business associates were able to buy major blocks of controlling stock in about 750 of the largest International corporations [oil companies, pharmaceuticals, defense contractors, etc.].

Aerial Los Alamos

Bormann also had formed close associations with numerous dictators in South America and started providing security services to them, and he did this for the nation of Egypt too. Colonia Dignidad was used as a base for this and to run special “Boys from Brazil” breeding programs, an interrogation center, and as a base to build a large narcotics cartel which later formed a partnership with the Mossad and the CIA (a three way partnership).

Hitler stayed away from Colonia Dignidad and was kept out of all Fourth Reich matters. He was told it was for his own protection, but the truth was Bormann felt he was incompetent and deranged.

The Israelis were beginning to understand that pushing the “hunt for Nazis” all over the world was great press and help increase their ability to get funding from the US Congress and was a great help politically in Israel. The South American dictators were protecting the Nazis because they trained and ran their security and their deaths squads to keep the peasants in line.

But this drive in Israel to hunt every last Nazi down was creating major pressure and Israeli diplomats were busy negotiating with the US State Department to make some kind of deal to get access to these Nazis hiding in South America. A deal was cut and Otto Skorzeny was involved. He found out that the Israelis had put out a contract to assassinate him and were closely on his trail, but that they might be willing to make a deal. So Skorzeny made a deal through intermediaries. He would provide some "wet work" for them and provide them information. In exchange he would be allowed to live in America and would also work for American Intel.

Bormann supposedly died of stomach cancer in about 1950. His first death then was faked by him and he allegedly really died sometime between 1955 and 1965. Hitler allegedly died of stomach cancer in 1950 in Spain, living in a Catholic Church home. I think that both of these were assassinations by Skorzeny as a part of a deal made with the Israelis. Plus the Fourth Reich that Bormann set up became completely corporatized, except for the strong Nazi element inside NATO known as Gladio which was responsible for staging terrorist acts for the City of London.

The new Fourth Reich Corporate conglomerate decided to get rid of the old Nazis and go completely three piece suit. Through various deals, the dictators protecting them were displaced and the Nazi strongholds in South America were demolished. I believe that Skorzeny poisoned both Bormann and Hitler after that action was approved by this Fourth Reich Directors.

Those that were not murdered were discredited and prosecuted, especially those at Colonia Dignidad. So now we have an essentially Nazi/Mossad hybrid system running all security and Intel for the City of London Banksters and their private world Banking System, all of which takes orders from those that hijacked the Vatican, the Jesuit Superior General.

And currently this Fourth Reich, a large secret group of major corporations produces oil, pharmaceuticals and has a very large clothing company that displays the swastika in a mildly disguised form.

They also run some major defense corporations and are reputed to have complete control over the whole Secret Shadow Government, all Secret Space War matters, including the two main space war groups, and all their 140 Deep Underground Military Bases [DUMBs] inside the USA, the four corners area, and many DUMBs all over the world, even in Norway.

As an aside, there are many inside MI-6 that believe that Eva Braun and Hitler had a daughter and that daughter is Angela Merkel. Hitler probably lived in South America until things got too hot because of the Israelis and was moved back to Spain, where he lived as a retired man gardening. I never heard what became of Eva Braun, other than her daughter Merkel was sheep-dipped and propelled to the top.

THE QUESTION OF WHAT AND WHERE IS THE FOURTH REICH TODAY IS AN INTERESTING ONE AND QUICKLY INVOLVES A GREAT DEAL OF ESOTERIC TOPICS, LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE NAZI BASE IN NEW SCHWABENLAND [ANTARCTICA], WAS THE NAZI AN OCCULT ORGANIZATION AT ITS CENTER BASED ON WORSHIP OF THE BLACK SUN?

Did the Nazis have possession of crashed and recovered alien ET anti-gravity craft from Bavaria in 1922, and did they receive Alien ET technology directly from the Vril Girls?

Conclusion

My best sources have suggested that the Fourth Reich is alive and well today, but in different form, because it has formed an alliance with those who run the Vatican, City of London private Fiat world banking, the Israelis and the major defense contractors in America, especially the no-bid ones.

Jim Marrs, the top expert on the Fourth Reich, would likely have a lot to say about all this. Some believe that it runs all American Intel and all US black projects including the US Secret Space War Program. This belief is likely well-founded.

This new arrangement is not surprising because the folks that really run things inside the Vatican and the City of London do so according to the Roundtable design. Those with corruption and power are brought in, kind of like the Cosa Nostra Ruling Council for the New York Five Families, but only on a world scale.

Thus, at this governing Roundtable can sit Israelis on one side; three-piece-suit Fourth Reich Nazis on the other side who still run the Gladio left behind army inside NATO; COL and Wall Street Banksters on the other side; and wealthy groups, like the Saudis, that serve as a major funding source for other Roundtable member groups who deliver protection and services for them.

This Roundtable form of world government requires only that these group leaders serve that same God Lucifer [aka Satan or Baal] and are fully committed at least in appearance to the Globalist NWO Agenda of the top single world leader, the Superior general who represents the European Old Black Nobility and carries all the full world authority of the Mark of Cain for Evil Ruling over Evil.

Occasionally a group may make a play to grab more power, and that may explain what has happened in the last US Presidential election. It is too soon to know for certain if this is what happened, and if so, who did it; but in time we shall likely find out. And some researchers claim that a new populist force within America and certain Intel groups has now made a powerful pay to re-balance the forces that sit at the Roundtable.

If true, this is the first time in history that populism has emerged so quickly and so powerfully — and this must all be credited to the new unanticipated social effects of the worldwide Internet, the New Gutenberg Press.

Did the Nazis locate a secret U-Boat base in Spain?

The building known as Casa Winter was built at the top of a hill Looking up from the wild and barely accessible beach of Cofete, on Fuerteventura's rugged southern tip, it is hard not to wonder who would have built a house high up on the hillside.

According to some, the remote location of the building known as Casa Winter is not explained by its fine views over a landscape that now forms part of Jandia natural park, but something far more sinister: The presence of Nazis in the Canary Islands during World War Two.

"There is so much to investigate here, but no-one is helping me," says an exasperated Pedro Fumero, the current occupant of Casa Winter who believes he may be sleeping on top of a secret base or hideaway designed for use by the Nazis.

The 48-year-old former taxi driver, whose grandfather helped to build the house and later lived in it, moved into the building in 2012, having found out that his two uncles and an aunt were inhabiting the place in poor health and squalid conditions.

The family is facing an eviction order after a hotel company bought the property from the descendants of Gustav Winter, a German engineer whose unusual wartime activities on Fuerteventura attracted the attention of Allied spies.

Winter, who was born in the Black Forest region in 1893 and moved to the Canary Islands in 1925, was one of 104 German residents in Spain whom Allies requested be repatriated to Germany at the end of WW2 to face accusations of being Nazi agents.

A 1947 document on these Nazi suspects from the Madrid bureau chief of the US Office of Strategic Services, a precursor of the CIA, describes Winter as a radio operator and military operator.

Like other Germans on the list of suspected Nazis whom the Allies had wanted to question and put on trial after the war, Winter was not handed over by the Spanish authorities. He died in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1971.

"I am sure Gustav Winter was provisioning German submarines," states Mr Fumero, citing wartime reports and some of his own findings, such as a battery he says is from a U-boat and that he found in the property.

"Why would you build a tower like this on top of what is essentially a bunker? This was never a house meant for enjoyment," says Mr Fumero, standing inside the turret-like construction that dominates the upper level of Casa Winter, equipped with an unusually large fuse box.

Could the tower have been used for communications? Or even as a kind of lighthouse, sending messages through electric flashes? Local historians mostly conclude that Cofete's beach would have been unsuitable for naval use due to its shallow approach, but also point out that the natural harbour of Ajuy, 20 miles [32km] along Fuerteventura's remote east coast, could have been used by submarines or other large craft.

The biggest spaces inside the building are in the solid basement, whose walls are almost 2m (6ft 7in) thick. Several rooms have no windows, including one tunnel-like space which runs the length of the house with just a small window at one end. Mr Fumero speculates that such spaces could have been used for concealing people - with or without their consent - but admits that he cannot be sure who or when.

Local documents date the house as being built in 1946, but Mr Fumero claims the "bunker" or base of the building was there much earlier, pointing to papers he believes show that Winter had bought out the previous Spanish landowner and acquired the entire Jandia peninsula shortly after General Franco had become Spain's dictatorial ruler in 1939.

Under Franco, Spain declared itself to be strictly neutral at the outbreak of WW2, but supplied minerals, volunteer soldiers and, in places such as the Canary Islands, logistical support to Nazi forces.

U-Boats and Spain in World War Two

The "U-Boat peril", as Winston Churchill described German submarine power, was a huge threat to Britain's survival during the early stages of World War Two.

U-Boats, supplemented by mines, aircraft and surface ships, succeeded in sinking three million tons of Allied shipping between the fall of France in June 1940 and the end of that year.

At the outbreak of WW2 in 1939, Spain was a broken country after the conclusion of its three-year civil war. General Francisco Franco wished to avoid dragging Spain into WW2, but his regime owed a large debt of gratitude, in material and other terms, to fascist Germany and Italy.

Spain was officially neutral, but unofficially on the Axis powers' side. And Spanish ports became important refuelling and provisioning sites for roving U-Boats between 1940 and 1942.

Alberto Vazquez-Figueroa, a writer from the Canary Islands in whose novel "Fuerteventura Casa Winter" is fictionalised as a kind of Nazi pleasure palace, says that islanders were kept out of the southern peninsula until the 1950s, when the Franco regime finally removed a fence which crossed the spit of land from coast to coast. "Word was that Franco had ceded that part of the island to the Germans and they had built a small airstrip there."

Winter built an airstrip in the barren, rock-strewn stretch of land between Cofete beach and his curious mansion, the remains of which are still evident to walkers and whose parallel lines of stones are visible in Google satellite pictures of the coast.

"I was told by one of his sons that it was because Winter's wife had a difficult birth experience, so he decided that planes should get access," says Juan Jose Diaz Benitez, a history lecturer at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, who has researched the story.

Dr Diaz Benitez believes that Winter used connections with the Nazi authorities in the 1930s to secure investment for the building of the harbour at Morro Jable and a plan to electrify the island of Fuerteventura and build a cement factory. Diaz Benitez cites a wartime letter from a German official to Luftwaffe chief Hermann Goering "complaining that it was rumoured in the Canaries that one Gustavo Winter was supplying fuel to German submarines, and that this was attracting the attention of enemy spies".

"The only thing proven by German documents is the subsidies he got for economic plans for island of Fuerteventura," Dr Diaz Benitez argues.

The presence of German submarines in the Canaries archipelago during the conflict is an established historical fact.

Dr Diaz Benitez says that besides the frequent use of local ports by tanker ships that would rendezvous with U-boats at distant, secret locations, German submarines docked at Las Palmas six times between May and July of 1941, prompting an official complaint by an exasperated British consul on the island of Gran Canaria.

For now, Mr Fumero's worries relate to the future of the house. But Lopesan, the company that now owns Casa Winter, told the BBC that it did not intend to develop the site as a resort, but rather "turn it into an interpretation centre".

"There are signs that this may have been a historically important and strategic site. We won't be developing the area around the house, but only restoring the building," Lopesan said.

Mr Fumero believes there is more to come from below the surface, literally. He says that he has asked a ground-penetrating radar company to prospect below Casa Winter, which he believes stands on a natural cave, a volcanic fissure which could be connected via a tunnel to the sea.

"It's not comfortable living out here. I left my family on Tenerife; I had a partner, but she couldn't take this remoteness. But now I am on a mission to uncover the truth about the house," he says.

General Franco's driver Stefan Aceituna claimed that Hitler was flown from Berlin on the night of 27 April leaving behind a double who was seen in the Bunker.

SS Gen Hermann Fegelein who also disappeared that night claimed to his mistress Mdm Rizzler the eve of his disappearance that Hitler had a double in the Bunker.

Aceituna maintained that Hitler was flown from Berlin and reached Barcelona in a "multi engine" German transport plane on 27 April 1945.

rom Barcelona he said Hitler was flown to Madrid on 30 April 1945. A large German contingent from this aircraft took up residence in the presidential palace taking over an entire wing. It is worth noting that a large multi engine Junkers Ju-290 indeed flew from Prague to Barcelona on the night of 27 April with 50 unidentified Nazi passengers. That plane returned to Czechoslovakia and was then flown into the hands of US forces near Munich.

It is interesting of all 108 occupants of the Hitler Bunker interviewed by American author James P O'Donnell for his book not one single story matched any another.

O'Donnell himself later disputed the reliability of witnesses interrogated in 1945, who are still used as primary sources by most historians.

He argued that these interrogations, because of the recent occurrence of the Bunker events, the end of the war, and worries over possible criminal charges, were about as accurate as "asking the shell-shocked to describe exactly the burst of artillery".

Moreover, many witnesses admitted to O'Donnell that they either lied or withheld information during their 1945 interviews, mainly due to pressure from their interrogators (this was especially true of those captured by the Soviets). O'Donnell argued that the witnesses needed time to "digest" their experiences.

There is not a single historian prepared to acknowledge the possibility because their knowledge is based on poring over official documents: Official documents do not necessarily capture the truth.

Incidentally Franco's driver asserts Hitler lived under the assumed name of Adi Lupi officially he was the palace gardener, but never performed any gardening duties. Aceituna insists that Hitler died of a massive coronary in the early morning of 2 November 1947.

Until late 2015 Spain had laws prohibiting the disclosure of WW2 secrets.
